Sanghamitra B.Ed College, Jharkhand also focuses on the overall development of its trainee teachers and therefore encourages all the candidates to participate in various activities organised by the college. Commonplace activities such as fests, sports tournaments or departmental events are not popularly organised in the college but there are other activities that are equally important. The college focuses on celebrating all local & national festivals in the college with full zeal. Students are encouraged to be a part of every event and also document the happenings later on with all the detailed information and pictures. This is also reflected in their academic performance.
The new session commences on July 1 every year and trainees celebrate all the festivals in the college itself. These activities help the budding teachers to broaden their social skills, learn from peers and get a chance to be a part of a big team. Festivals like Van Mahotsav, Saavan Mahotsav, Independence Day, Teachers' Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Durga Puja, Diwali, Christmas, Republic Day, Basant Panchami, Women’s Day, etc. are all celebrated with remarkable enthusiasm. Students are asked to participate and arrange on their own for the celebrations. Groups are divided into different categories of work such as creative team, finance team, performers and various others. The college teaches us to respect every culture. Sports events are not organised, however, students are encouraged to participate in gardening and tailoring activities, which are also a part of the curriculum.
Events such as ‘Fresher’s Day’ and ‘Farewell Day’ also give opportunities to students to showcase their talent and learn something new while enjoying the activity. Reward in the form of academic scores and recognition helps students to enthusiastically participate, making the event successful and also achieving the goals of extracurricular activities.
