Goa to conduct Class 11, 12 exams via offline mode; Guidelines against COVID-19 spread released

Considering the health and safety of students, the Goa Education Department issued special guidelines and COVID-19 precautionary measures.

Goa Class 11 and 12 Exam 2021: Latest update suggests that Goa Education Department has decided to conduct exams for Classes 11 and 12 via offline mode. However, the department has given permission to hold Higher Secondary Level Exams in offline mode on a conditional level. In order to hold exams, schools have to ensure that they will follow and adhere to all pandemic norms strictly. Mr Bhushan Savaikar, Director of Education, Goa Government announced the decision to hold the exam via offline mode. Announcing the decision, Mr Savaikar said that many schools have requested to hold the Goa Board Exams in offline mode and in response, the state government has decided to allow it with strict adherence to COVID-19 Guidelines.

COVID-19 guidelines released, negative RT-PCR report mandatory for students

An official notification released by the department states that the number of students seated in each class would be 50% of the overall capacity. The schools have been directed to make seating arrangements following social distancing norms. Wearing marks, using sanitizers is mandatory for all students and staff members. The circular also adds that all staff members, teachers and students will be checked for body temperature and any other visible symptoms of COVID-19. Cleaning and sanitization of school premises and all the common areas every day prior to opening is mandatory.

In order to keep students and staff members safe in the examination, the Goa Education Department issued special guidelines and COVID-19 precautionary measures. As part of these measures, the state government has made negative RT-PCR report mandatory for the students appearing for the exam. The official circular released by the government in this regards read “Only vaccinated staff shall be allowed in the school premises. Those who cannot produce vaccination certificate shall be allowed after producing the negative report of RTPCR test. Such report shall be valid for seven days and a fresh report shall be produced after seventh day.”
