Haryana School Reopening: Haryana government has announced its decision to reopen schools for Classes 1 to 3 from September 20. According to the official tweet posted by Haryana CMO, the state government has issued a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with respect to COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing rules. Students willing to attend offline classes would require written consent from their parents. Schools cannot force children to attend offline classes. The government has asked the schools to continue teaching via online classes as well. Attending physical classes will not be mandatory.
Thermal screening, wearing masks, hand sanitisation are mandatory at all government and private schools. Meanwhile, the Haryana government has already reopened schools for classes 4 to 12. While Classes 4 and 5 were reopened from September 1, students of Classes 6 to 12 started attending offline classes in July.
Education Minister Kanwar Pal had asked the students to get the written permission of their parents. Besides, students who do not wish to attend physical classes can attend the online classes conducted by schools in parallel. The guidelines issued by the government also stress on maintaining social distances during classes. A gap of at least six feet has to be maintained between two students, the govt had said in its guidelines.
Meanwhile, EDUSAT or Education Satellite classes will also be held by the government. EDUSAT classes are created by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for students of primary to higher-level education. These classes provide access to classrooms to deliver education materials.
