'Higher Education Leadership Development Programme for Administrator' particularly aims at training the senior and middle-level academic administrators to make them bring a systemic change in Indian Universities in terms of renewed approaches, capacity, tools and skill.

'Higher Education Leadership Development Programme for Administrator', a joint initiative of British Council and UGC under the auspices of UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) has been launched by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'. The leadership development programme aims to train and mentor the middle and senior-level administrative functionaries in Indian Universities.

During the launch ceremony, the Union Minister expressed that the unique programme will work on the critical aspects of enhancing leadership capacity in Indian Universities’ mid and senior-level functionaries. He further added that the programme will also work towards the development of institutes in live with our Government’s vision to improve the quality of education being provided in Indian academic institutions. The programme will develop a more global outlook and promote higher education system both inclusive and internationally connected. It will support social and economic growth in the UK and India. It will also help in improving and enhancing the reputation and profile of Indian Universities.

'Higher Education Leadership Development Programme for Administrator' particularly aims at training the senior and middle-level academic administrators to make them bring a systemic change in Indian Universities in terms of renewed approaches, capacity, tools and skill.

Under this programme, two workshops will be conducted by UK Trainers to train about 300 academic administrators working at the level of Registrar and Joint/Deputy/Assistant Registrar. The programme will be conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in collaboration with the training partner Advance HE with globally recognized institutional leadership excellence and expertise from the UK, which is being enabled by the British Council in India.
