INIFD Vashi helped me in expanding my horizons, says Khushboo Ratwani

It has always been my dream to pursue fashion designing as a career but due to various reasons, I couldn’t fulfill my dream. In 2018, I decided to pursue fashion designing and chose INIFD Vashi - International Institute of Fashion Design.

When I went to INIFD Vashi, I was given complete support and counseling to opt for the right course.  For admission, no entrance test was conducted by the institute. INIFD was the right institute to pursue fashion designing due to its location and the variety of courses offered. Moreover, my mother is an alumnus of INIFD Vashi, which assured me of the quality of education and expertise of the institute.

Various events and activities are planned by the student's committee of INIFD Vashi, including various festivals. Annual events such as the Fashion Show and Exhibition for showcasing the work of students are also organised by the institute. Such events give students the opportunity to develop new connections and ofcourse enjoy as well as learn. Recently, I got the opportunity to showcase my design at the New York Fashion Week, 2020, and also, I got a chance to manage the Visual Merchandising of the institute itself. This exposure helped me in expanding my horizons, enhancing my skills and making me a confident person I am today. It has given me the practical exposure and taught me various ways in which things can be done and managed. I am waiting to participate in Launchpad at Lakme Fashion Week and other residential programmes are few opportunities that are being provided by INIFD Vashi. I am quite sure that after graduation I will continue to get such opportunities.

I wish to put all my knowledge and experience in launching a new collection and starting my own brand.

Khushboo Ratwani is pursuing Fashion Designing from INIFD Vashi and currently working as Senior Data Research Analyst with an investment research company. She has completed Post Graduation in Management Accounting. She wants to become a successful fashion designer.
