Q. Congratulations! Did you expect to be the topper of the exam?
Thank you very much! Honestly, I never thought about that, I was hopeful of getting around 95% but being the topper was a big surprise.
Q. How did your family react to the news of you being the topper of the exam?
Everyone was extremely overjoyed, I could see a sense of satisfaction and deep pleasure in their eyes.
Q. How did you prepare for JKBOSE exams?
From the very first day I was up to my ears in my work. My strategy was not to let even a single day go waste.
Q. What was your schedule like when preparing for the exam?
Frankly, I never made a time table. I was just working on clearing my concepts and learning. I used to sit for hours and go through the chapters and then practice the questions that followed.
Q. Any time management tips for students while preparing for the exam?
Procrastination is the biggest enemy. Don't leave your assignments and tasks for the next day because that thing/topic would lay undone then. Make every second count.
Q. According to you, where do students generally go wrong in their preparation for board examinations?
We have to be very specific and clear about our concepts. Board exams demand revision and practice. Most of the students keep the major portion of syllabus for the last days and hence don't get enough time for revision.
Q. As per you which books are important to score well in the exam?
Pertaining to board exams, the course books are the best. The language is easy to comprehend and retain. Moreover refreshers should be referred to for more details.
Q. How important is revision in the exam?
Revising the syllabus again and again helps to have a good hold over the topic. I wrapped up my syllabus by the end of November so I had about 2 months to revise before external exams began.
Q. Any time management tips while giving the exam?
Answer those questions first which you know properly. Don't waste your time on the ones you're unable to recall. Mark them and think about them after you finish the rest. Most importantly, keep your eyes on the watch.
Q. What things should students keep in mind while sitting in the exam hall and giving the board exam?
Be relaxed and don't panic. Read each and every question carefully and then answer. Make your answers as well as paper presentable.
Q. Any tips for future aspirants?
Work hard and stick to your goals. Don't let anything distract you. Manage your time well and be sincere to yourself.
