LU Admissions 2021: Lucknow University (LU) has decided to include concepts related to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic in its four-year undergraduate course, made in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Candidates interested in LU Admissions 2021 must note that the decision to include the concepts related to COVID-19 has been taken in order to make students learn about the present scenario and also the challenges ahead. The board of studies and the faculty board have already passed the syllabus and the same will be discussed during the academic council meeting to be conducted on July 17 for final approval.
Talking about the idea of including COVID-19 concepts in the undergraduate four-year programme, LU psychology coordinator Archana Shukla said, "Our four-year UG courses focus on providing student employability at every step, hence, concepts which are the need of the hour have been included. For the first time, we will be teaching school mental health that will include studying and researching about the mental health of both teachers and students."
Expressing about the increase of stress and anxiety levels among every age group, Shukla said that the University’s decision will provide better employability to students. Also, the social work department will teach students all about the health care system, especially with respect to the COVID-19, she added.
Meanwhile, social work department head, Anoop Kumar Bhartiya talked about making the courses more job-oriented, "To make the course job-oriented we have focused more on fieldwork in our new UG syllabus. For learning a concept, a student has to go among the people to explore and find out challenges. We will be teaching the health care system in which we will teach about the organisation of the people, institutions and resources that deliver health care services to meet the health needs of target populations at the time of the pandemic,” he added.
The University has made changes in political science courses with respect to the present scenario. The varsity has also included one paper on contemporary global issues that talks about how international politics is going to change after the pandemic," said LU faculty member.
