Maharashtra Foreign Education Scholarship applications for SC students begin, apply until August 28

Scholarship enrolment for Maharashtra Students SC category begins! According to the reports, Maharashtra students from Scheduled Caste communities enrolled in foreign universities can apply online for scholarships until August 28, 2020. The application for a foreign scholarship for the academic year 2020-21 is open to students pursuing postgraduate and similar higher education qualifications abroad.

The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to the candidates shortlisted from the application process who are in postgraduate or research programmes in institutions or universities accredited by an authorized body of that country. The foreign education scholarship is offered to the students in various fields of study such as Engineering and Management; Pure Sciences and Applied Sciences; Agricultural Sciences and Medicine; Commerce, Accounting and Finance; and Humanities and Social Science.

According to the scheme, one hundred awards, subject to availability of funds, per year are available. 30 per cent of the awards for each year are earmarked for women candidates. Vacant slots of the previous year, if any, are also carried forward to the next year.

In the latest official tweet of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Maharashtra Government said, “Scheduled Caste students pursuing a postgraduate degree and similar higher education in internationally reputed universities will now be able to apply for foreign scholarships in the academic year 2020-21 through online-email till 28th August - Minister of Social Justice Dhananjay Munde.”

Meanwhile, Maharashtra state board recently released the Mah HSC Results 2020 and Mah SSC Results 2020 online on July 16 and July 29, respectively. The government also commenced with the admissions for the First Year Junior College (Class 11) Admissions and the First-year degree programme admissions to Mumbai University. Interested students who have completed the qualifying examinations can visit the official website to submit online applications and get details related to the admission process.
