Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar asked students to use the e-learning platform to continue their studies even while staying at home during the lockdown.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has urged all the students to utilize a maximum of their time on e-learning platforms, to continue their studies while at home during this lockdown period.
In order to ensure that the students at both government and private schools in the state do not suffer an academic loss during the nationwide lockdown, new classes have been started for 52 lakh students from April 15. These classes are conducted through cable and DTH channels under the distance education programme, the minister said.
While addressing people of the state on the COVID-19 situation, he said, "Because of the current health crisis in the country, the school and college students are getting greatly impacted as they are not able to attend their classes."
He also interacted with the students and teachers, during his televised address.
Generally, the new academic session starts from April 1 every year, however, this year due to lockdown, many students had to face uncertainties of whether or not there would be exams or when they would get admission to the next class, he added.
The chief minister said the state government had already decided to promote all the students studying from class 1 to 9 to the next grade based on the results of the examinations that took place till March 18.
He said that after passing their Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) class 10th exams, each year in the month of July, about 60,000 to 70,000 students take admission in 172 government and 246 private Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) of the state and the classes start from August month.
He shared that in ITI, there is a total of 81 trades, out of which in 30-35 trades there is a condition of passing the math and science examination in class Xth.
"If lockdown continues and more time is taken to conduct the science examination, the government is thinking to admit students on a provisional basis, without appearing in science examination. The final decision in this regard will be taken soon," he said.
