Meanwhile, a decision to reopen schools for the rest of the classes will be taken after analyzing the situation. ANI in a tweet stated, “We are reopening schools for classes 8th to 12 in Mumbai with effect from 4th Oct, and for the rest of the classes we will take a decision in November. All COVID19 SoPs issued by the government will be implemented: BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal.”
Various states have started reopening schools in a phased manner amid the declining cases of COVID-19. The national capital Delhi has decided to reopen schools after the festive season, as per the announcement made by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu government has also announced that the schools in state will reopen for Classes 1 to 8 from November 1. The state took the decision following a meeting chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalin at the Secretariat to review the ongoing measures to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, the government said the ban in respect of social, political, cultural, and religious congregations would continue to be in place. In case the number of COVID-19 cases increases, states will take a decision on the closure of schools again.
