Mystory@Abhilash Kapoor: How I selected my course and career path
I'm interested in ethical hacking and system administration, so I always keep trying to grasp something new by watching cyber hacking videos etc. Prompted by such keen interest in this field, I decided to pursue BCA to gain more knowledge in this field.
Since self-awareness is the first step to choose a stream of study, I analysed at my own end and tried to identify my interests, aptitude and skills. As there was parental pressure, I had taken Commerce with Mathematics in my 10+2. Though I'm good in Math, my parents also helped me a lot in that crucial time by always encouraging me and giving their valuable advice.
How I prepared for college admission
Just after my class XII board exam, I started preparing for entrance examinations for not only computer science courses but various other courses like BCom (Hon), BJMC, Law etc. I did this to have a wide choice of course options available to me at the time of admission, as having something to fall back on is better than having nothing.
I joined Career Launcher for entrance exam coaching. They helped me a lot in sharpening my numerical aptitude and improving my preparation level. They took mock tests every Sunday and the classes were held regularly with all necessary rules and regulations to maintain the needed discipline for thorough preparation.
How I manage college and job together
I was always late for my classes in SCCTM (Sirifort College Of Computer Technology and Management-Rohini), right from the beginning as I have meetings in the morning regarding business issues and various work related stuff to take care of. But despite all the pressure, I don't have any back papers in any of my past semesters and have scored 89%. This is because I’m very attentive for whatever time that I attend my classes. I pay attention to the smallest of details and try to grasp everything being taught by my teacher.
If I get a chance to do something more, I’ll try to gain knowledge in French or German language.
