INIFD provides great opportunities to grow, feels Kriti Jain

I opted for Commerce with Economics in high school as I have never been a Math or Physics enthusiast. I enrolled in Bachelors in Banking and Insurance (BBI) for my under-graduation. While I was pursuing BBI, I realised that I was more interested in interior designing. I decided to quit BBI and began my search for good colleges for interior designing. After extensive research, I found INIFD Vashi - International Institute of Fashion Design to pursue my interest.

The faculty of this institute was so helpful and assuring which convinced my mother and made it easy for me to finalise INIFD for interior designing.

The admission process of INIFD Vashi is hassle-free as no entrance tests, no portfolio of the student is required by the institute. The students are required to submit their passing certificates of Class 12 and other identification documents to get admission.

The faculty of INIFD Vashi is extremely patient and supportive. In such a learning environment the students always feel encouraged to learn new things from everyone. Apart from regular lectures, the students are given several assignments and submission of these assignments this requires the students to stay in the college campus even after their lectures. This way the college encourages students to learn more.

There are a variety of extracurricular activities organised by the college from Ganpati Visarjan to Sports Day, Holi to Children’s Day celebrations. Every event is celebrated with great enthusiasm by students and faculty. Various activities like visual merchandising, exhibitions and annual fashion shows organised by the college teach the students about team work, respecting each other and thinking out of the box which gives creativity a boost. The college focuses on grooming the students for a brighter and better future.

Several opportunities are provided to me like speaking on stage and participating in several classroom presentations which helped me in overcoming my stage fright. The college has instilled leadership qualities within me, this made me realise my potential and fill me with confidence. It has made me believe in myself.

I have got opportunity to work as a member of the set implementation team of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW). I also participated twice in the set designing competition of INIFD Launchpad at LFW, and once got acknowledged as a runner-up in the same event.

INIFD opens a number of opportunities to grow and develop skills of each student. The students get placement opportunities from big companies such as IKEA.

INIFD has tie-ups with many good designing firms and companies, which makes students secure for their future prospects.

I want to study further and gain knowledge about a few interior designing aspects like Landscaping, Vaastu Shastra and Set Designing. I also want to do an internship or part-time job alongside.
