From the sense of crowds to individuality: Kriti Sanjay Gupta
I had always been sure about pursuing my career in Hotel Management. I always wanted to choose a career wherein I could explore and not just keep myself limited to the knowledge given by physical books. I was a commerce student and wasn’t very popular in school and never actually received any attention from the teachers. So, I did not want the same to happen again and for that, I groomed my confidence. Vedatya, for me, was an abrupt decision and an escape from the theoretical world.
Initially, I felt a little awkward, there was an unwanted silence in the Vedatya Institute's atmosphere. Gradually, things went better, the faculties made sure that I feel comfortable and to be honest I started feeling like being at home.
Vedatya is located in a beautiful remote village, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city life. In the beginning days, it all looked a little weird to me. This could be because we are not used to be in such kind of peaceful environment. Later it all meant challenging as well as fun to me. In Vedatya, the lecturers are extremely supportive. They made sure that we learn the most of all that has been taught. For that, they did not mind being bothered at any time of the hour. They tried their best to break the ice and make us feel comfortable to interact with them. There were lectures given by guest faculties and us as students were always encouraged to ask questions. They tried their best to interact with us. These lecturers were not just limited to the hotel industry but also from standalone restaurant operators, bar schools, food chains, other hospitality-related companies to dynamic personalities who once were industry professionals. Apart from academics, the college keeps on hosting numerous Events. From dancing to delivering event management skills, they made sure that we excel in all. Overall, there is nothing about Vedatya that doesn’t please me. It’s just the infrastructural areas and functioning of the academic behavior that could have been better.
Today, I feel choosing Vedatya was a correct decision of my life. It has helped me gain a lot of confidence because of which I can present myself better than ever before. It has helped me enhance my strengths. From the faculties to the administrative department each one of them has helped me become a better person. Vedatya has given me the opportunities to travel and stay all by myself. Moreover, regular lectures and visits have shown me a path through which I can make my future fruitful.
