The Sriram Millennium School and Shiv Nadar School, two major schools in Noida have been shut down until March 9, 2020, following CoVid-19-Coronavirus Scare.

The Sriram Millennium School and Shiv Nadar School, two major schools in Noida have been shut down until March 9, 2020, following CoVid-19-Coronavirus Scare. According to the reports, the closure of the schools took place following a parent who was detected positive for CoVid-19- coronavirus.

The first positive case of Coronavirus in Delhi belongs to a parent of a student who studies in the Sriram Millennium School in Noida. The parent community of the school decided not to send their kids to school when the news of the first positive case of the deadly virus broke out. Fearing infection from other students, the parents of the Sriram Millennium School have decided to stop their children from attending the school. However, the administration of Sriram Millennium School has not issued any official notice regarding the Corona Virus scare and the shutdown of the school. According to the media reports, following the Coronavirus Scare, Shiv Nadar School has also been closed until March 9, 2020.

BN Singh, District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, told media that the Shriram Millennium School, Noida, is being sanitized due to a coronavirus scare. District administration has sent a team to the school to sanitize the school. No student or teacher has been tested positive coronavirus yet.

The parent who has been detected positive of Coronavirus had recently returned from Italy. The infected person is at present isolated in a Delhi Hospital. Before being hospitalised, the patient organized a party in Agra. Several students from the school also attended the party.

The district magistrate told the patient is already in isolation in Delhi and they are also in the process of isolating the family and the children who attended the party.

The school has now sent a notice to the parents stating that the scheduled exam for March 3, 2020, has been postponed, and a new date for the same will be issued shortly. The notice also stated that the Board examinations will be conducted as scheduled and children of classes 7-11 may come for extra classes if they wish. However, class 6 and IGCSE classes have been asked to continue with the study leave.

Taking precautionary steps, Shiv Nadar School, Noida has also decided to close the school until March 9. As informed by the Principal of the school, the step has been taken to sanitize the academic place and remove all scope for further spread of this virus.

According to media reports, six more cases with high viral symptoms have been detected in sample testing in Agra. These are the same people who came in contact with the coronavirus patient from New Delhi.
