Considering the lack of internet connectivity in the interiors of Odisha, the absence of an offline admission process may cause problems for several students.

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the state government of Odisha has decided to conduct the admission process for Class XI in higher secondary schools via virtual mode. In order to make students aware of the online admission process for Class 11, the government has issued an advisory. The authority has also assured that steps would be taken to help in admission. The directorate of higher secondary education, in a notification, said, “admission to Class XI will be conducted in online mode through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal. Offline mode of admission is strictly prohibited, the notification read. The government advised students not to apply through any private agency or agent.”

The notification further added, "Never let others to apply on your behalf. The students should not give their original documents to any private agency or agents to avoid duplication issues.” In order to get e-admission related information, students can check common prospectus available on the website https://samsodisha.gov.in. Students are advised to read the prospectus thoroughly prior to filling and submitting the application form.

To apply online, a student must register in the SAMS portal with her/his mobile number. The notification further reads, "One's own mobile number is necessary as all the admission and examination related information will be sent to the registered mobile number only during the entire academic period.” Considering lack of internet connectivity in the interiors of Odisha, the absence of an offline admission process may cause problems for several students. Earlier, students had the facility to apply through both online and offline mode and they could submit their forms at the nearest SAMS centre. However, a complete online admission could make many students face difficulty while applying. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha declared the BSE Odisha Result 2021 on June 25 at around 4 pm from its Head Office. An overall pass percentage of 97.89% has been recorded.
