Odisha government has decided to transform more than 1,000 government schools in the state. According to the reports, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that more than 1,000 government schools in the state will be transformed and modern facilities will be added such as smart classrooms, e-library cum reading rooms, modern science laboratory, hygienic toilets, safe drinking water and sports infrastructures.
Terming the initiative as a progressive Odisha, the minister said that in the first phase 1,070 schools will be transformed with modern facilities. On August 21, the chief minister stated that this decision to transform schools will bud new opportunities for children of the state and help them fulfill their dreams. Reports suggest that Patnaik dedicated 10 transformed government schools to the state which have all the modern facilities such as smart classrooms, e-library cum reading rooms, modern science laboratory, hygienic toilets, safe drinking water and sports infrastructures.
10 such transformed schools have been inaugurated by the minister in his own assembly constituency of Hinjili in Ganjam district on August 21. The government has transformed as many as 50 such schools completely with all the facilities that are not even available in private schools in the state capital. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, Patnaik inaugurated the schools from Bhubaneswar through virtual mode. However ministers, MLAs and other functionaries were present physically at the schools along with the students, parents and local people. The projects were undertaken under the state government’s 5T, i.e. Technology, Teamwork, Time, Transparency leading to Transformation initiative.
