CM Shivraj Singh has announced that the schools will reopen for Classes 11 and 12 from July 25 and colleges would open from August 1, all at 50% capacity.

Online classes in Madhya Pradesh schools have been resumed on July 14, 2021. The private school association suspended the online education process on July 12, 2021, when they failed to get any response from the government on their demands. “We suspended online classes indefinitely after failing to get a positive response from the state government,” said Ajeet Singh, president of the MP Private School Association, an umbrella body of about 45,000 schools affiliated to the MPBSE.

However, Singh told Shiksha.com that the government has given assurance to the association to fulfill their demands and commence the functioning of the schools after analyzing the COVID-19 situation. He said their major demands were that authorities stop inspecting the already closed schools and renew the recognition certificates of these institutions for five years, instead of one. “Looking at the losses that we have incurred, the state government should not charge the annual school recognition fee during these testing times,” he said.

CM Shivraj Singh has announced that the schools will reopen for Classes 11 and 12 from July 25 and colleges would open from August 1, all at 50% capacity. However, Singh believes that the schools must reopen for all classes taking precautions against COVID-19 spread. Education is being hampered due to the suspension of offline classes, Singh said. “If we conduct MP Board 10th, 12th exams now, we won’t get half the result that has been declared,” Singh added. The government is not restricting children from visiting malls, parks and outing places, then why schools?, Singh asked.

Meanwhile, VR Modi, vice-president of another private school association covering nearly 2,800 CBSE schools in the state, also confirmed Shiksha.com that they have resumed their online classes from Wednesday.
