Only four Indian institutes in Top 100 of FT’s global MBA Ranking

Among all, IIM-A has registered the biggest drop among Indian Institutes on the list. In 2019, the institute was on the 47th position and this year it has dropped 14 positions to settle at 61.

Top 100 list of Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2020 is out and as many as four Indian institutes have booked their place in it. Among so many premiere Indian business institutes/schools, only Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), Indian School of Business (ISB), Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC), and  

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) managed to make it to the list.

Topping the list among Indian Institutes, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore got the 27th position followed by Indian School of Business (ISB) ranked at the 28th position, IIM Calcutta at the 42nd position, and IIM Ahmedabad at the 61st position. While IIM Bangalore managed to be on top of the list of Indian Institutes, worldwide US’ Harvard Business School bagged the first position in the Top 100 list of Financial Times.

As compared to the list of 2019, IIM-Bangalore jumped six positions from the 33rd rank but ISB has dropped from 24th position to the 28th position. IIM Calcutta too improved its position from 49 last year to 42 in the year 2020. Among all, IIM-A has registered the biggest drop among Indian Institutes on the Top 100 list of Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2020. In 2019, the institute was on the 47th position and this year it has dropped 14 positions to settle at 61.

Harvard Business School has reclaimed the first position among the total 100, after being ranked second last year. However, Stanford Graduate School of Business, the US, which was ranked first in 2019, has slipped to the third position in 2020.

While India bagged four positions, US institutes bagged six of the top ten positions across the globe. France and China got two and one positions respectively, among the top ten in the list. While China and the UK have nine institutes each in the list, two institutes from the latter broke into the top 20 globally.
