The Osmania University (OU) is mulling to conduct the undergraduate (UG) examinations in the second week of June. According to the reports, the examination branch of the University will release an official notification to this effect in two or three days.
The examinations of the undergraduate progrmmes will begin in the second week of June and will be stretched until the end of July. The administration of Osmania University is also working on to come up with a revised schedule for postgraduate programmes. The reports suggest that OU will conduct the examinations for the postgraduate programmes in the second week of July. Due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by the lockdown to contain the virus spread, the University lost several working days. This is why OU decided to conduct exams on Sundays as well. However, the revised schedule and University’s decision on commencing the exams will depend on the government's decision on COVID-19 lockdown.
The examination controller of OU, Dr Sriram Venkatesh said, “Main and backlog exams for undergraduate students are being planned in the second week of June. The PG exams will commence in July when major UG examinations complete. We are issuing a notification for degree exams in two or three days.”
Talking about following precautionary during exams, Dr Venkatesh said, “We are already maintaining a one-metre physical distance between students during the examinations. If the need arises, we will increase the number of centres and ensure more physical distancing is practised in the exam halls.”
Meanwhile, the OU also announced summer vacation in advance for the postgraduate programmes. Students will now have a vacation from May 11 to June 7. The vacation is applicable to PG programmes such as MA, MSc, MCom, MSW, MCJ, MLibISc, MPEd, MBA etc.
