Panjab University PhD Admission 2021: Registration, Dates, Courses, Eligibility, Fees & Application Process
Panjab University offers full-time and part-time PhD programme in various streams and specialisations. The minimum duration to complete this degree is three years. PU PhD admission 2021 is entrance-based. The application mode for the programme is conducted in online mode.
The detailed eligibility and selection criteria for PhD programme is mentioned below:
- Eligibility criteria: Candidates, who have completed a master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC, ST, PwD, BC category) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, or equivalent are considered eligible for admission to PhD programme.
- Selection criteria: A valid score in the PhD Entrance Test, followed by an interview
- Exemption from LPUNEST: Those, who have qualified UGC NET/ JRF/ CSIR NET/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) exam/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE or GPAT scorecard/ ICAR (NET), SPM, Teacher Fellowship holder, or passed MPhil (regular mode only) are exempted from LPUNEST for PhD

PU PhD Seat Reservation 2021
PU reserves seats for various categories across the PhD programme. 15% seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% seats ST and 5% for OBC category. Other than these, 3% of seats are reserved for candidates with physical disabilities. Candidates, who are UGC NET/ CSIR/ SLET/ GATE-qualified examination or are Teacher Fellowship holder/ Awardee of fellowship by DST (INSPIRE) or other National Agency, are exempted from the entrance test. On qualifying MPhil and PhD Entrance Test, candidates can enroll themselves within a period of two years.
PU PhD Application Process 2021
PU PhD application process 2021 is conducted in online mode. The PU application form for admission to UG and PG programmes is released in April, every year. PU application fee 2021 is Rs Rs 1088 for one subject and Rs 500 (per additional subject).
