Punjabi University has postponed the exam scheduled to be conducted today amid the farmer's call for Punjab Bandh.
The Punjabi University at the last minute has postponed the exam scheduled to be held from today; September 25, amid the call for Punjab Bandh. The exam will now be conducted on October 14, 2020.
As per the notification released by the varsity, now the exams will be held from September 26 to October 14. The exams were earlier scheduled to be held from September 25 to October 12.
Controller Examination Professor JIS Khattar told that the exams has been postponed as the students, Principals of various colleges and representatives of Private colleges Associations brought to the notice that due to the call of Punjab Bandh on September 25, the students and staff involved in the examination may find difficulty in smooth conducting. He said that to avoid any kind of inconvenience for students and teachers, the decision has been taken to postpone the exam scheduled on September 25.
He further informed that the exam scheduled to be held on October 4 has also been postponed due to UPSC competitive exam on the same day. This paper will now be held on October 13. The revised date sheets as per the new schedule will be updated shortly on the varsity’s website, he added.
He further added that it has come to notice that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is also conducting the UGC NET 2020 Exam during the days when the varsity is conducting the exams. So, as to avoid any clash of time with UGC NET Exam, the varsity may also change the timing of the exam of certain papers accordingly. The students will be informed accordingly if there is any such change.
