Rajasthan government has announced that it has got approval from the government to broadcast educational content on 25 All India Radio (AIR) across the state for 55-minutes free daily until June 30.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has allowed the Rajasthan government to broadcast educational content on 25 All India Radio (AIR) across the state for 55-minutes daily until June 30.

Rajasthan School Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara informed that the ministry has allotted a free slot and school students of the state will now be able to listen to the educational content through AIR.

The department had requested the government of India to provide free slots to hold educational lessons for state students on AIR, which has been approved, he said.

“The Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCRT) will provide contents, which will run daily on AIR until June 30,” Dotasara said.

The request for free slots on AIR was also made Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state BJP president Satish Poonia to the Central government.

These classes will be broadcasted to help and benefit students from class 1 to 12. This has been done with an aim to avoid any academic loss of the students during this lockdown period. RSCRT has also prepared a list of experts who will provide content that will be aired on these channels.

AIR, in a letter to RSCRT, stated that the broadcast will be done from 25 stations, including 16 primaries and nine relay stations. AIR can upload the content provided on its digital platform after signing an MoU for the same.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), have provided one-time relaxation to class 9 and 11 students and promoted them to the next grade. Class 1 to 8 students were also promoted to the next class directly. This was done in the wake of ongoing coronavirus outbreak in the country due to which schools, colleges and educational institutions around the country have been shut.
