Reservation in Sanghamitra B.Ed College

No Management Quota seats are available in Sanghamitra B.Ed College as the entire admission procedure is in the hands of the Government of Jharkhand. 

Sanghamitra B.Ed College is located in Chuttupalu in Ranchi, Jharkhand and is ranked among one of the top B.Ed colleges in Jharkhand. The college bags all the approvals and affiliations such as from NCTE, Government of Jharkhand and Government of India. The college is affiliated with Ranchi University for its two-year full-time B.Ed course. The college accepts admission in 100 seats each year. Admissions to B.Ed colleges in Jharkhand are subject to Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). JCECEB holds admission in B.Ed colleges every year through a state-level competitive examination and counselling procedure. Since the admissions are subject to JCECEB, the seat matrix is published by JCECEB before admissions and also before each round of counselling. 

Reservations are provided to candidates as per the norms set by the Government of Jharkhand. 85% of the total seats are reserved for candidates who graduate from the Universities of Jharkhand. 15% of the remaining seats are open seats. Seats are allotted to the students as per the merit cum preference of the candidates. 

According to JCECEB, the following are the certificates required for reserved categories at the time of admission:

1. Reservation on the Basis of Caste (SC/ ST/ OBC)

For reservation on the basis of caste, the current reservation policy of the Government of Jharkhand is followed for admission across institutions. Candidates have to submit a copy of the caste certificate issued by the competent authority (Circle Officer/ Sub-Divisional Officer/ Dy Commissioner of Jharkhand) at the time of admission. The caste certificate issued by any other authority mentioned or in any different format than prescribed is not entertained. In this case, the candidate’s claim for reservation and admission is rejected.

Sanghmitra B.Ed College has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

Candidates belonging to BC1 and BC2 categories are also expected to submit their caste certificate at the time of admission. Candidature of students belonging to BC1 and BC2 categories is only valid if he/ she does not belong to a creamy layer. The same should be mentioned in the caste certificate. The certificate should be in a prescribed format available under the Acts and Circulars column on the website of JCECEB. A notification copy is also available on the Board’s website. 

2. Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)

According to the Memorandum of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasa Department, Ranchi, the candidates from economically weaker sections of the society can also avail of the benefit of Scholarships for admission at Sanghamitra B.Ed College, Ranchi. For the approval of reservation claims, the candidates have to submit an Income and Assets certificate issued by the competent authority (Circle Officer/ Sub Divisional Officer/ Dy Commissioner of Jharkhand) in the prescribed format. The Memorandum and prescribed format for the certificate is available on the website of JCECEB. 

3. Reservation for Persons with Disabilities

Candidates with locomotors disability of lower limbs (Divyang candidates) are also eligible to avail the benefit of reservation according to the Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Ranchi. To claim a reservation, the candidate has to submit Disability Certificate. The certificate provided should be in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority (Chairman of the Medical Board and Countersigned by a Medical Superintendent or a Chief Medical Officer or Head of the hospital of Jharkhand). The Memorandum and prescribed format for the certificate is available on the website of JCECEB. 

4. Reservation for Primitive Tribal Groups Candidates

The Primitive Tribal groups of candidates are also eligible to claim the reservation in admissions according to the Memorandum of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasa Department, Ranchi. The concerned Memorandum is uploaded on the website of JCECEB. 

All the above are the reservation categories and the required documents to avail the benefit of those for admissions to Sanghamitra B.Ed College, Ranchi. The admissions are done by JCECEB and hence the norms are set by the Board. 15 % of the seats are open seats, which means students of any category can take admission on those seats. However, they still need to graduate from the universities of Jharkhand. No Management Quota seats are available in Sanghamitra B.Ed College as the entire admission procedure is in the hands of the Government of Jharkhand.
