Telangana government has asked all the public and private schools to promote class 1 to 9 students to the next academic grade, due to coronavirus lockdown.
Telangana government has directed all the public and private schools in the state to promote all the students of class 1 to 9 to the next academic grade without conducting the exam, amid the current health emergency of coronavirus.
While addressing the reporters, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, said: "The decision to promote students of class 1 to 9, was made by the cabinet. This will be applicable to both government and private schools. A decision on Telangana Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (TS SSC) will be announced soon."
Telangana Intermediate Board (TSBIE) is set to release the TS Intermediate Result 2020 soon after the lockdown is over, as per the reports.
Chief Minister during the press conference, also announced that in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus the lockdown in the state will continue until April 30, 2020.
Giving a brief update about the COVID-19 situation in the state, the chief minister said that in total there have been around 531 positive cases of which 394 are active cases of which 16 deaths have been reported. Unlike the previous period of lockdown, KC Rao announced that farming and related activities will be allowed to continue during the course of the lockdown.
During a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, the chief minister had urged the Centre to rescue the state government with financial assistance. He said Prime Minister will take a call on extension of nationwide lockdown after taking into account all the possibilities and will address the nation soon on it.
