On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the officials to be ready for the foundation laying ceremony of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) university on August 28 and start doing all the preparations. He said this while inspecting the site embarked for setting up AYUSH university at Pipri and Tarkulwa villages.
President Ram Nath Kovind will also grace the foundation ceremony.
Public Works Department (PWD) has prepared a detailed report of Rs 299.87 crore for the construction of AYUSH university and fifty-two acres of land has been acquired for its construction.
UP CM has told the officials to start preparations for the laying of roads and helipads before the foundation ceremony. BJP regional president Janardan Tiwari has asked the party workers to create awareness among the public about the foundation programme.
Prakash Chandra, a regional Ayurvedic and Unani officer, said that all types of AYUSH colleges will be associated with this university. He also said that the university would be completed by 2023 and at present, there are 98 AYUSH colleges.
