Uttar Pradesh government has decided to collaborate with an edu-tech start-up in order to provide entrepreneurship lessons to government school students. Conforming to the reports of the state government’s collaboration with the start-up, he said that the partnership is done with a Delhi-based startup Kidzpreneur. The collaboration aims to impart entrepreneurship skills to government school students. According to the reports, Abhishek Tiwari, Advisor, Start-up Program, UP Government said, "Students are showing keen interest to learn entrepreneurship skills. It is promising to note that girls' participation is more compared to boys. In our state, it is indeed very encouraging. At the preliminary stage itself, school students not only brought innovative ideas but also had the clarity to explain how they wanted to execute them. Kidzpreneur is expected to further hone their talent and help them reach great heights.”
State officials have already approached several schools for "Ideathon" and more than 15 have expressed their willingness to be a part of the initiative. Amid the declining cases of the novel coronavirus, the Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to reopen schools for Classes 9 to 12 from August 16 and for Classes 6 to 8 from August 23. For Classes one to five, schools will reopen from September 1. On August 19, the government also said that attendance for students will not be compulsory. The regions have been asked to close the schools again if the COVID situation worsens. While replying to a question by teacher constituency member Dhruv Kumar Tripathi, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma told this to the state legislative council. “In basic education, attendance is not compulsory. We have also not made attendance mandatory for classes from 9 to 12,” Sharma said.
He further added, “Guardians, teachers and political organisations have also said the offline education should be started even if it is for a shorter period. In UP, the present atmosphere is sufficiently secure but if there is any indication of any concern (regarding COVID), we can also close schools.”
