Rajasthan Governor Mishra said in order to achieve best in higher education during this coronavirus lockdown, it is need of the hour to make use of innovative technology.

Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra said to achieve the best in the higher education field it is the need of the hour to make use of innovative technology. Due to coronavirus lockdown imposed, several universities, colleges and educational institutes in the country were shut down as a preventive measure.

In the current situation, where all the educational institutions around the country are closed due to coronavirus outbreak, the universities should make proper use of available resources in solidarity, he said.

“A new strategy has to be formed to re-create a cultural environment in the state,” Mishra said.

He raised these concerns while discussing higher education with the vice-chancellors of universities of the state through video conferencing from Raj Bhavan.

The Governor discussed the recommendations to set up a task force along with vice-chancellors. The Vice-chancellors said that all the recommendations will be discussed in the respective committees so students can be saved from any academic loss.

The key suggestions given by the task force were teaching modules and videos transmitting e-content and video lectures to students by using WhatsApp and other available tools.

He also suggested that the students' union election should not be held in the University and the colleges associated with it. Also, every university should take permission from the secretariat for not proposing any holiday in its academic calendar after the period of lockdown to save time from completing the course.

He also emphasized that the present university portal website should have Hindi text to help Hindi speaking students.
