A total of 21 teams participated in the first year quiz competition, 17 teams shared innovative ideas in the poster competition for the second year and almost 29 teams fought it out in the project competition for the third year.
Vishwakarma University's statistics department, under the faculty of science and technology successfully organised a national level competition, 'Sankhyakriti' for Bachelor of Science (Statistics) students at its Kondhwa campus.
The university's event received an unexpected response. More than 162 participants enthusiastically participated in the event comprising of various competitions. According to the head of the university’s statistics department, Nazia Wahid, the event 'Sankhyakriti' helped to create awareness about the importance of statistics among the student community. The university’s vice-president, Wasudeo Gade, informed that the Vishwakarma University had become a reputed member of Chennai’s National Institution for Quality and Reliability (NIQR).

The event’s chief guest Alok Kumar, joint director of union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation stated the fact that one’s fortune is not a dependable factor, one should always try and be different from others.
The event also witnessed insightful discussions on topics like interesting tour of the history of Indian statistics, weather forecasting dynamics, interpreting climate data for a safe future, rainfall prediction, draught analysis and much more by the guest of honour Pulak Guhathakurta, scientist, Indian Meteorological Department, Pune.
Industry stalwart Ms Preeti Pandhu, Founder and Director of Data Science Lab, conducted an expert session towards the end of the event on how data science is related to everyday life.
