Another notable alumni from the National School of Drama, and from the same batch of Nassiruddin Shah (1973), Om Puri, was a renowned actor in the Bollywood industry. Flawless acting and sheer class. Starting his career in acting by debuting in the 1976 Marathi movie Ghashiram Kotwal, Om Puri began his road to stardom. In his 41 years in the industry, Om Puri has bagged various awards and has starred in various blockbuster movies. Other than the big screen, Om Puri has also done TV shows and has also starred in Hollywood movies alongside Tom Hanks and Ben Kingsley.  Om Puri passed away on January 6, 2017. But his presence will forever be echoed through his movies.
