JNU

Under JNU, the Centre of Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Latin American Studies (CSPILAS) offers admission to various full-time Spanish programmes. Students are taught the basics, how to read, write, speak and understand the Spanish language. Apart from the language, students have to opt for two optional courses in their undergraduate programme and select subjects from Humanities and Social Sciences. Eligibility Criteria:

• UG Courses: The candidate should have done their Class 12 from a recognised board and should have secured a minimum of 45% from any discipline.
• PG Course: The candidate needs to have done their graduation from a recognised University in any stream and should have a BA/Certificate/Diploma in the Spanish language.
• MPhil: The candidate should have done their MA in the language applying for from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 55%.
• PhD: The candidate should have done their MA/MPhil in Spanish from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate.

Admission Process: Students will first have to apply online on the official website of JNU and are required to sit for JNUEE. For UG courses, the written test will be in English based on the language and history of the language. For PG and MPhil/PhD courses, students are required to give the entrance exam in the applied language. Students who make the merit list, are required to appear for an interview. Students clearing the two rounds are offered admission. For MPhil and PhD, students also have to present their synopsis during the interview round.

One of the recognised private varsities in the nation, Amity University’s Amity School of Foreign Languages offer students admission to BA (Hons) Spanish. UG Programmes: The candidate should have done their Class 12 from a recognised Board from any stream and should have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate to be eligible.

PG Programmes: The candidate should have done their BA/Diploma in Spanish Language or BA in any discipline along with a certificate in Spanish from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate to be eligible.

Research Programmes: The candidate should have done their MA in Spanish with specialisation and should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate to be eligible.

Spanish courses are offered at three levels at the University of Mumbai which is Certificate (levels A1 – A2), Diploma (A2 – B1) and Advanced Diploma (levels B1 – B2, plus two weekly hours of Spanish culture and civilization).
