Mystory@Nithyalakshmi: What I gained from my college years

When I was in my Higher Secondary School I was passionate about photography and film making but I opted for photography and cleared the exams. I wanted to get enrolled in a top college but due to my less marks I could not secure a seat in any of the top institutes in and around Coimbatore. I finally took admission in Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore. The University provided enough facilities which made me believe that I could establish myself and hone my talents once I start studying in the University.

I'm enjoying my college days just the way others do. We go to lots of field trips and attend workshops that teach us techniques in filmmaking and photography. The department has provided DSLR and HD video camera as these contribute immensely in the development of our skills. I enjoy hand printing as I have a keen interest in Art, and also like doing yoga as it keeps my mind at peace. I would like to opt for a freelancing opportunity in fashion photography and journalism but since I'm not aware of how to get started, I am seeking guidance for the same.
