Eligibility Criteria For Becoming An Air Hostess
There are several government colleges, private institutes and universities in India which offer the Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Travel Management course. Some of the basic criteria which have to be filled up in order to become an air hostess are:
- The students have to complete their 10+2 board exams or any equivalent exam from a recognised board or institute
- Students who have just answered their final board exam can also apply before the declaration of the results
- The candidates need to score a minimum of 60% marks in their board exams in order to be eligible for this course
- The candidate should not be less than 17 years of age and more than 25 years of age when applying for admission to Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Travel management course
- The female candidates should have a minimum height of 157 cm and male candidates should have a minimum height of 170 cm for applying to the course and job in airlines
- The eyesight of the candidates should be 6/6. Maximum of +/- 3 corrections are allowed
- The candidates should not have any history of mental illness.
Admission Process And Syllabus For Air Hostess Course
The admission process varies for the course of Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Travel Management in various institutes and universities. The government based colleges and universities which provide air hostess courses take admission through counseling process. Whereas, the private and deemed universities conduct their own entrance tests as well as Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds for shortlisting candidates. Some of the top colleges and universities conduct entrance exams like that of the AIAEE, NCHMCT JEE and AEEE for admission to the air hostess course. Air hostess is a lucrative job monetary wise as well as for people who love to travel. Domestic flights although do not provide their hostess with much opportunities of travel to locations as the flight always returns to its destination on the same day. But foreign airline companies, especially, the gulf countries operating airlines like that of Qatar, Emirates and Etihad are some of the dream airlines companies for air hostess as they provide humongous salaries and perks of traveling to amazing locations all around the world.
