The main courses offered for airport management are Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and other short-term Diploma courses in Airport Management and Airport Ground Handling. 

You may also avail of other professional training courses that are available to become a logistical part of the Airport Management Team. These courses have varying degrees of eligibility and you may opt for them based on the following criteria:

• BBA courses are undergraduate courses that need the student to have passed 10 + 2 from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of at least 60% (preferably from the commerce stream).
• MBA courses are postgraduate courses which need the students to be a graduate from any recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in their subject. They also have to pass entrance examinations like Common Admission Test (CAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT) or other exams like Xavier’s Aptitude Test (XAT), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET).
• Diploma courses vary from one institute to the other but students are usually needed to have passed 10 + 2 in any stream, be it arts, commerce or science from any recognized board.

Duration and Fees for the courses

The duration of these courses are usually three years for Undergraduate programs and two years for Post-graduate programs. Diploma courses last for around a year. 

The fees for the Bachelor’s degree courses aren’t very high but due to the increased demand for the Master’s degree, some private institutions have hefty fees for the course. Overall, they aren’t unimaginable numbers and a student is usually job-ready in two to five years. 

Placement cells of these colleges are usually responsible for handing out salaries and packages to its students making it vital for everyone to pursue and attempt at getting the best institutes they possibly can, this helps them academically and provides a better foundation for the future. The syllabus for these courses is extremely exciting to study. 3. Cargo Management Team: You have the responsibility of loading, unloading, securing and moving of airplane cargo and baggage. If fragile or costly items are onboard, it is your duty to make sure it reaches safely and properly to the customer after landing at the airport. An expected package from this job is around 5-8 lacs a year.
4. Safety and Maintenance Manager: If you’re a Safety and Maintenance Manager then you have human resources under your wing. You have to hire, select, train and assign jobs to people. You also have to make schedules for counselling. You have to plan, monitor, maintain salaries and bonuses for individuals. An expected salary for a job in this department is around 7-10 lacs.
5. Airport Manager: The ideal job this course offers you is that of the Airport Manager. Both international and domestic airports have an airport manager to ensure the smooth operation of the airport on a day to day basis. An expected package of such a job can be anywhere between 7-30 lacs a year.
