JEE Advanced 2013 Toppers:

1. P Sai Sandeep: - AIR 1 with a score of 332/360 (JEE Mains - 311/360)

  • Try and devote 12-14 hours a day towards your studies.
  • Go to a coaching institute which helps you in both – IIT preparations and Boards.
  • Practice as much as you can. It will help you pick up speed.
  • Have a good study plan based on the syllabus.
  • Divide time between subjects based on your interest and difficulties faced.
  • Study topics you are not good at Spend more time on subjects you are not good at Time division is highly important, so divide your time accordingly.
  • While studying, complete concentration is of utmost importance.
  • Do not study continuously. Study for 50-60 minutes and then take a 10 minute break.
  • Interact with your teachers as much as possible

 

2. A Ravi Chandra: AIR 2 with a score of 330/360 (JEE Mains - 315/360)

  • Start your preparations as early as you can. I started mine in Intermediate 1st year
  • Join a coaching institute. It helps a lot.
  • Pick up any good book on IIT prep from the market and just practice. Practice actually makes a man perfect.
  • Solve previous years’ question papers. It really helps and I can assure you of this fact as I did the same.
  • Make sure that you do not get tensed during the examination. I cannot stress more the importance of staying cool and calm during those six hours. This is what is going to decide your rank. Even if you have practiced for hours before it is not going to help unless you are cool.
  • Do not ever try to get your way through by just memorizing the concepts. If you do not understand any concept then there is no way in which you can solve a JEE-level question on it. So understand and apply all the concepts and fundamentals.
  • As always practice is going to decide your rank in the exam. There are cases where many smart students are unable to get a good rank due to lack of practice.
  • Do not over-study the night before exam. Of course, sleep is very essential for your performance
  • Do not take heavy breakfast on the day of the exam.
  • Don’t roam outside in the sun before the exam and make sure that you do not eat any junk food in that particular week. The biggest suggestion is that take care of your health for the exam.

 

3. Anand Bharoskar: AIR 3 with a score of 329/360

  • Hardwork is the only way to crack the exam.
  • Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics are easy subjects, so do not take it as a burden
  • If you dislike studies, the more difficult it would get
  • Have a long-term plan for your studies and be systematic

 

JEE Advanced 2014 Toppers:

4. Chitraang Murdia: AIR 1 with a score of 334/360(JEE Mains - 335/360)

  • Study hard. Pay attention. Don’t get distracted
  • If possible, join a good coaching institute
  • Maintain your calm during the paper
  • If you are unable to solve a question don't get stuck on it. Skip to the next question and return to it later
  • Do not ignore any mistake. Try to improve upon them
  • During the preparation, remain honest with yourself.
  • Finally, JEE is no rocket science. With ample hard work anybody can crack it.
  • Honest and dedicated hard work is the most important thing. I have had a passion for academics from the beginning and I followed this passion to crack JEE.

5. Govind Lahoti:  AIR 3 with a score 322/360(JEE Mains - 340/360)

  • Hard-work and consistency are the two things that can take you up to this stage.
  • One should enjoy the subject while preparing and should not treat it as a burden. They shouldn’t take it as a stress. If you enjoy your studies, you would definitely want to study more.
  • Plan your studies and make it an everyday schedule and implement the same without fail.
  • Focus more on Chemistry and your weak chapters in all subjects.
  • Prepare efficiently. Plan every day and do not waste time.
  • Always keep yourself calm and confident.
  • Do rough work in exams neatly so that when you come back to questions later, you need not start all over again.
  • Divide time wisely during the exam. Postpone any question that is taking more than the stipulated time. Come back to those questions at the end. Do not get stuck at a single question. You could rather do three easy ones in that time.

 

JEE Advanced 2016:

6.Satvat Jagwani: AIR 1 with a score of 469/504(JEE Mains: 330/360)

  • Join a coaching institute if required. I would suggest students to go for both Coaching and self-study. It really helps.
  • Devote around 5-6 hours every day on self-study
  • Concentrate of whatever you are studying and are taught in your classes.
  • Always keep clearing your doubts. And enjoy what you are doing.

 

7.Mukesh Pareek: AIR 3 with a score of 449/504(JEE Mains: 325/360)

  • Study consistently and work hard for two years after your 10th. These years are really important for your preparation.
  • In 11TH, everything starts with an excitement. So, I would suggest all my juniors to maintain this excitement level till the last day of the examination. I did the same.
  • Do not become restless during the last days of the exam and started studying less. That doesn’t help.
  • Maintain your efficiency till the last day of the exam. I think, it’s all about working hard, being consistent and motivated.

 

Janak Agarwal: AIR 2 with a score of 453 out of 504(JEE Mains: 315/360)

  • Anyone who is preparing for these kind of exams shouldn’t take stress.
  • They should enjoy and devote full attention to their studies.
  • They should learn to handle pressure and how to manage time. These two are very important.
  • Spend 6-8 hours daily on self-study. This will prove to be boon for you.

 

Anjishnu Bose: AIR 26 with a score of 398 out of 504(JEE Mains: 315 out of 360)

  • Joining a professional institute really helps a lot. It would provide you all the study materials. Plus, the exams that they conduct plays an important role in your preparations. It keeps a track of your preparation and also gives you the estimation of your national performance. Also, help you achieve your targets in a realistic manner and thorough proper time management. It helped me a lot, so it just might help others too.
  • Aspirants should also focus on being consistent on their studies. Studying just before the exam wouldn’t not help.
