JoSAA registration and choice filling process commenced from June 16 2019. Candidates seeking admission to the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) through JEE Advanced 2019 and NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) & CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutes) through JEE Main 2019 will have to register and fill their choices online to participate in JoSAA counselling 2019.
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling and seat allocation process is held on the basis the ranks secured by candidates in JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Earlier, the counselling process for admissions to NITs, IIITs and other Government Funded Institutions and IITs were done through separate counselling platforms.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2019
Before commencing with the online registration process, it is important for aspirants to check the JoSAA eligibility criteria. JoSAA eligibility norms include the following pointers:
- Qualified JEE Advanced for BTech admissions at IITs and ISM
- Qualified JEE Main Paper 1 for BTech admissions at NITs, IIITs and CFTIs
- Qualified JEE Main Paper 2 for BArch admissions at NITs, IIITs and CFTIs
- Qualified 10+2 with from a recoganised board with Science stream and 75% marks

JoSAA Registration and Choice Filling 2019 – Detailed Process
JoSAA registration is a two-step online process which includes filling the application form, filling the choices and locking the choices for final seat allotment. Follow the below step – by step guide to complete JoSAA registration and choice filling process:
Step 1: Register for JoSAA counselling
To begin with the online registration, candidates will first have to fill the application form. To do the same, candidates will have to use their registered credentials like roll number and password to login. Candidates seeking admission at NITs, IIITs and CFTIs can login using their JEE Main registered credentials while IITs aspirants can use JEE Advanced credentials to login.
The online application form for JoSAA counselling will carry details like candidate’s name, gender, state code, category, eligibility etc. It may be noted that candidates will not get the opportunity to make changes in this registration form and so, they have to carefully fill in the required details.
Step 2: Fill and Lock your choices for JoSAA seat allotment
After filling the online application form, the next step is to fill choices of college and course basis the candidate’s preference. As per the aspirant’s eligibility, the available choices of admission will be listed. Once the choices are entered, aspirants can arrange the same basis their preference.
After completing the choice filling process, candidates can lock their choices for the final JoSAA seat allotment process. It is advisable for candidates to take a print out of the chosen list for future reference.
After the registration process concludes, JoSAA will conduct two mock round for seat allotment. The aim is to help candidates get an idea about their chances of getting through their preferred college and course. The authority will then provide candidates with the opportunity to make changes in their choices, basis the mock allotment results.
