The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will be conducting WBJEE 2019 on April 22. The exam will be held to offer admission to various undergraduate courses in Central and State government colleges in West Bengal.

WBJEE registration process is likely to commence from the last week of December 2018. The last date for candidates to fill WBJEE application form will fall in February 2019.

Before the exam aspirants begin with the WBJEE registration process, it is important to take a look at WBJEE syllabus to get an idea about the topics involved in WBJEE question paper. Candidates can also check out the WBJEE exam pattern to get an idea on chief topics and marking scheme.

The WBJEE 2019 application process will be the same as it was last year. Similar to last year, WBJEE 2019 will contain Biological Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as its main subjects. All the four subjects in the exam will comprise a total of 100 marks each except Biological Science, which will be of 150 marks.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidate applying for the exam for admissions in Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture programme must be of at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2019.
  • Candidates applying for the exam for admissions in Marine Engineering must be at least 17 years of age or above as on December 31, 2019. However, he/she must not be above 25 years of age as on July 31, 2019.
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized council/board with individual passing marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/a Technical Vocational Subject (Engineering Drawing/Computer Science).
  • Minimum of 45 % marks in case of general category and 40 % marks for SC/ST/PwD/OBC candidates, in the above subjects. A minimum of 30 % marks in English for all categories of candidates.  
  • Candidates seeking admissions in Jadavpur University must score a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics separately in case of general quota and 55% in case of SC/ST/PwD/PBC candidates. He/she must pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates). 
  • Candidates applying for architectural courses must have cleared 10+2 with individual pass marks in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/a Technical Vocational Subject (Engineering Drawing/Computer Science)
  • Candidates applying for architectural courses should also qualify in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi.

WBJEE Test Centres:

WBJEE exam is expected to take place across various cities of West Bengal including Tripura, Agartala, Assam and Silchar. Students appearing for the exam may not be allocated the first choice zone due to lack of sufficient candidates. However, they will be allocated the 2nd choice and 3rd choice of zone.
