The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) will NOT conduct the Certified Personal Financial Advisor (CPFA) exam, which is to be discontinued from September 2013. Students who have already paid the fee to appear for CPFA exam would have to take the exam before August 30.

The institute recently introduced Investment Adviser Examination (Level 1) for individuals registering with SEBI as Investment Advisers.  An overlap between CFPA and the newly launched exam is supposedly the reason behind discontinuing CPFA exam. The exam was launched in January 2011 in association with Financial Planning Corporation (FPCIL).
