Exam for those interested to work in rural banks
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting Common Written Exam (CWE) for Regional Rural Banks (RRB) as well, reported The Economic Times. The government has given approval for conducting common recruitment exams for filling up vacancies for officers and staff in RRBs. This new system will help streamline the hiring process.
As per Rupee Times, Mr. Dilip Kumar Mukherjee, Secretary General of All-India RRB Employees Association said that the volume of business coupled with large-scale retirement from 2012 to 2015 has increased 10 times making it crucial to jumpstart the recruitment process. IBPS have been recruiting banking personnel on various posts for 19 public sector banks excluding State Bank of India through CWE. IBPS has recently announced result for clerical exam, in which 5.31 out of the 30.31 lakh candidates who appeared were declared qualified.
The procedure will be the same as it is for the public sector banks. IBPS will conduct CWE and will declare the qualified candidates. Successful candidates will be issued with a scorecard which is required to apply, mentioning their CWE scores, to any of the participating banks. Each participating banks can then declare their individual cut-off scores and can call the shortlisted candidate to consider for further recruitment process. (Read more...)
The ministry of finance has given the responsibility to finalise the details of the CWE to National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (Nabard) in consultation with the department of financial services and IBPS.
