IIFT, Delhi and IIM-S crowned National Champions in the CFA, GIRC, India Round

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Delhi and IIM-Shillong are the two institutes which will be representing India at the Asia Pacific finals of the CFA Institute Global Investment Research Challenge that will be held in Hong Kong in March, 2012. IIFT had earlier emerged champions in the North Zone finals, edging out top institutes like the other IIM-L, FMS and MDI to secure its place in the National Finals of CFA GIRC, India round.

The two institutes were crowned champions in the National Finals of CFA GIRC by an eminent panel of judges which included:

  • Sunil Singhania, CFA, Head - Equity Investments, Reliance Capital Asset Management Ltd; and President of IAIP
  • Ratnesh Kumar, Managing Director and Head, Standard Chartered Securities India
  • Alan Meder, CFA, SVP and Chief Risk Officer, Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co.; and Vice Chair, CFA Institute Board of Governors
  • Ramesh Damani, seasoned investor with over two decades of experience

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals worldwide, organizes the "CFA Institute Global Research Challenge", which is an annual, global educational initiative.The tournament's grand Final is held in April every year in New York City, USA where the regional champions from Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas fly down and compete. The top two Indian teams qualify for the Asia Pacific Finals which are held in Hong Kong in March every year.The Indian Round of CFA GIRC,organized by the CFA Institute, USA, in association with the Indian Association of Investment Professionals(IAIP), is backed by three premier organizations: NSE (National Stock Exchange), Bloomberg and Bloomberg UTV as sponsors and long term corporate partners.
