NSE-NIFM to hold virtual test for PGP-FM

India’s stock exchange giant, NSE (National Stock Exchange), in collaboration with the NIFM (National Institute of Financial Management), Faridabad, lately launched a full-time Postgraduate Program in Financial Management for graduates. Subsequently, both of these leading financial institutions will be conducting online tests to register students for this certified PGP-FM program.

Post Graduate Program in Financial Management June 30 and July 1, 2012

The online test will be organized in 12 cities, Delhi being one of them. The booking can be done in 4 time slots from 9am to 5pm on the NSE website, www.nseindia.com.

 


Selection criteria for enrolment to the program include:

 

 

  • Academic Profile (20%)
  • NIFM-NSE Online Test or CAT, MAT, XAT Score (50%)
  • Personal Interview (30%)

 


However, individuals who do not hold a valid CAT/MAT/XAT score have to take the online test conducted by NIFM-NSE. Aspirants can enlist themselves on the NSE website. The last date to apply for the program is June 25, 2012.

 



The program marks the introduction of a specialized market simulation software which has been created for the first time in India. Through this novel software, students and professionals will be taught to trade on the same tools that are used extensively by the market community. (Read more)

 



Not only will this software improve a student’s skill as per the latest technology but will also open career gateways for a bright future in investment banks, research firms, mutual funds, brokerages and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) centres.

Besides making students proficient at investment and trading skills, these new courses will assist students in gaining in-depth knowledge of the financial market .

 

Cash market and derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, mutual funds, commodity market operations, and corporate and capital market laws will be some of the topics covered under this program.

 



The PGP-FM (full time) program will encompass 840 hours of theory, 200 hours of mock trading and cover 24 subjects of the financial markets while the weekend course will include 440 hours of theory and 200 hours of mock trading and 20 papers.
