1. Market Requirements

Q:   Can I write IPMAT exam after 12th?

A:

The eligibility criteria for IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) may vary slightly each year. However, based on the general eligibility criteria, the following criteria are typically applicable:

  1. Age Limit: Applicants belonging to the General or NC OBC category must not be more than 20 years of age as of July 31, 2025, at the time of filling the IPMAT application form 2025. The age should not be more than 22 years as of July 31, 2025, for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, PwD (DA) categories. Candidates belonging to the Foreign Nationals category must have been born on or after August 1, 2005. 

  2. Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination from arecognisedboard or institution. The qualifying examination should be completed in the year of the IPMAT exam or in the preceding two years.

  3. Minimum Percentage: General and Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC) category candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Class 10 and Class 12 standard examinations. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories, a minimum of 55% aggregate marks is required.

Q:   Can I appear for IPMAT more than once?

A:

No, IPMAT is conducted only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The IPMAT exam is being conducted in the CBT (computer-based test) mode. Based on the IPM Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to integrated management programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Managment, Indore. The exam will only be conducted in the computer-based test mode for all the sessions across various cities. The difficulty level of the IPMAT exam is usually moderate and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the IPMAT exam need to apply on the official website of IIM Indore and fill out the IPMAT application form once the application window opens. IPMAT is held in about 28 test cities across the country, and the students need to visit the exam centre in order to take the exam.

Q:   Is there an age limit in the IPMAT exam?

A:

Yes, there is maximum age limit to appear for the IPMAT exam. The students appearing for the IPMAT exam must be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2024. The IPMAT exam is open to students who have recently passed Class 12 or are still awating the Class 12 results. IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore and is accepted by some of the top institutes such as IIM Indore, IIFT, Nirma University, IIM Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR and NALSAR University. Any candidate who has scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of the General and NC-OBC categories is eligible to apply for the IPMAT exam.

Yes, IIM Indore extends financial aid to the aspirants in need of financial assistance. The institute offers a Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) scholarship to ensure that no aspirant is deprived of education at the institute for financial reasons. All participants admitted to the Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), PGP HRM (PGPH) and Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) with annual family income below INR 9,00,000 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. All the students who have applied through the EWS quota but have secured the seat through general or any other quota can also apply for NBFA. Any participant who have applied through SC, ST, OBC or physically handicapped quota and fall within the above eligibility criteria can also apply for the NBFA.

Q:   Can international students appear for the IPMAT exam? What is the procedure to apply?

A:

Yes, international applicants fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Five Year Integrated programme in management (IPM) of IIM Indore.

  • They should have secured a minimum of 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations from any of the recognised Central or State or International Boards
  • They must be a maximum of 20 years of age as on July 31, 2024.
  • The candidates must have a valid SAT score of a minimum of 1300 out of 1500 (SAT score obtained during November 1, 2022, to May 20, 2024, will only be considered as valid scores)

4. Remuneration 

Remuneration is an important aspect of every job. A BBA degree is highly rewarding. Students can access the best managerial and administrative professions with the highest incomes and benefits. Candidates with a BBA degree from a good college or university can expect starting salaries of four lakh (INR 4 LPA) onwards. Other candidates can expect starting salaries of two lakhs (INR 2 LPA) onwards. BBA graduates with four to five years of experience can expect salaries in the range of eight to ten lakhs (INR 8 to 10 lakhs). However, the salary statistics vary from city to city and in different industries. 

5. Future Degrees (MBA, MBE, Economics)
