What is Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)?

Bachelor of Business Administration is also known as BBA General and is an undergraduate management course. The course is spread across three years duration and is divided into a six semesters. Aspirants who wish to pursue BBA can opt for a full-time education mode or can pursue the course in distance learning or correspondence mode, according to their choice.

When opting for BBA General, a candidate must note that the course is not subject-specific. Apart from the compulsory subjects, students get the advantage of choosing combinations of different subjects – these combinations vary depending upon the subjects offered a particular institute. This degree is also popular as Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS).

BBA provides the students with a basic understanding of business processes and management. Along with this, students are taught organisational and communication skills which prepare them for their entrepreneurial journey. Students get practical training in the form of presentations, case studies, industry visits, internships and interactions with industry experts.

What is Bachelor of Business Administration or BBA (Honours)?

The BBA Honours course offers in-depth knowledge of business operations, administration and management. Students are also taught how to take major business decision, use resources efficiently and how to work collectively towards a common business goal. The duration of the course is three years. Aspirants can choose to pursue BBA Honours in full time as well as part time education mode.

BBA Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have passed Class 12 or equivalent from any stream and should have secured minimum 50 per cent in aggregate (45 per cent for Reserved categories). Many B-schools have the criteria of English as a compulsory subject. 

BBA Honours Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of BBA Honours is same as BBA General, i.e.minimum 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for Reserved categories) in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board or university.

BBA Admission Criteria

BBA admission in most of the colleges and institutes is entrance exam based. BBA entrance exams are objective-type aptitude tests in which candidates are evaluated on English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge.

BBA Honours Admission Criteria

Entrance tests for BBA and BBA Hons are common. Admission criteria of many B-schools include personality assessment test such as group discussion or activity, presentation, extempore and personal interview.
