What my college did not offer: Amit Singh Rawat
My 12th Board exams were done by the end of March. I was looking for a good college and I was from the commerce field, so I decided to opt for BBA after my 12th. I went to so many colleges to apply for admission and at last, someone suggested DAV College, so I took admission there. The college faculty was very polite and behaved well when speaking to students, and resolving their enquiries and problems about college admissions. Then, I registered and there was a rule of paying the fee in three intervals, or we could say, three times in a year. Students from the SC/ST category could avail the benefit of reservation quota and free education in the college. Basically, I was from the unreserved quota, which was why I had to pay the full amount of the fee which was around Rs 40,000- Rs 45,000 per annum. You can get all the details of fees and various courses in the college brochure.
College Life
My college life was very interesting. I was in the NCC Air Wing. NCC is a thing where someone can improve their ability as well as develop their minds. There were many camps held in NCC which were adventurous and helped in creating good memories. On every Sunday morning, there was a class held for NCC Cadets which was called a Drill Class. For aspirants who were willing to join defence forces, NCC provided them with more opportunities. I had so many friends in the college as well as in NCC. In the end, I completed my course of BBA in Marketing.

Placements
Placements were not up to the mark. Only a few companies came to the college to provide job offers. Less than 10% students got placements in the college, which is why this college is not good for placements. The college didn’t provide internships too. This was not good for students because in today’s time every company prefers students who have done an internship somewhere. So, if you are looking for a college with good internships, then this college is not for you. This also disappointed me, as I also wanted to study in a college that provided internships.
Takeaway
I will suggest you one thing. While choosing your college, please make sure that the college is providing all the facilities to the students. You need to get all possible details before taking admission and get all information regarding your queries from the college faculty.
In my personal opinion, I will suggest that if you really want a college with good internships, then look for some other college because this college was not what I had expected. If you really want to study and learn something, then you can find some better colleges according to your requirements. I would advise you to try to find a college which doesn’t come under the affiliation of GNDU (Guru Nanak Dev University), as the university is not very sincere when it comes to marking the students.
