How many times have you found yourself in awe of the people who launch a business of their own, make it a success and also get to spend their time the way they want to? Many of us have ideas to start our own ventures, but don't know where to start.

In a first for India, these new courses will train the students to be successful entrepreneurs. Shiv Nadar University of India has tied up with Babson College to launch courses at undergraduate and post graduate levels specifically aimed at creating entrepreneurs.

Babson College is world's no. 1 business school for entrepreneurship to offer global leading programs in Entrepreneurship Education to India. Babson's MBA program has been ranked no.1 for entrepreneurship for 19 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report and has produced many well known entrepreneurs including Roger Enrico, former Chairman, PepsiCo; William D. Green, CEO, Accenture.

These courses, which will commence from 2013 academic year are:

  • Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) - 4 year program with the option to study one or two semesters at Babson College
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) - 2 year program with the option to study a semester at Babson College
  • MS in Entrepreneurship - 1 year program with first semester at Babson College

Students completing the programs successfully will receive a degree issued by Shiv Nadar University and a certificate from Babson College. The course also offers the students a chance to spend one or two semesters at the Babson Campus for international exposure.

These courses will be an attempt to systematise education for becoming an entrepreneur. Aimed to make the students well versed with real business environments the courses will be replete with launching and closing real businesses.

Though the final fee structure will be revealed on the site soon, it will depend upon the the Babson component of the program. Approximately the total fee for BBA (4 year) will be Rs 1,220,000 and for MBA (2 years) would be Rs 1,150,000.

Nikhil Sinha, Founding Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University said, "We need more entrepreneurs to drive the social and economic change which the world economy needs at this time. 72% Indians in the US feel that its more profitable to start a business in India than in US. Entrepreneurs in the IT industry have already proved their worth as a backbone of economic revival. At this stage we need more job creators and not job seekers."

"With this growing need of entrepreneurs, education system has to step up and train the professionals accordingly," he added.

Len A.Schlesinger, president, Babson College said, "India is a nation of entrepreneurs and we need such visionaries who don't just create wealth, but create a wealth of opportunities for others."

After pursuing these courses a student can set up his or her own business or work for a company and set up smaller business there. So all those who are looking to be entrepreneurs this could be worth exploring. Explore more management courses here
