In an exclusive interview with Shiksha.com, Nishkarsh talked about his CBSE 10th board exam preparation routine, his reaction to Class 10 CBSE results, tips for upcoming aspirants and more. CBSE Board Exams 2024 were conducted from February 15 to March 13, 2024. The Board announced the CBSE Class 10 Results 2024 on May 13.

Parashar, a student of Manav Rachna International School, sec 14, Faridabad, aims to crack JEE exam and join one of the Top IITs.  In an exclusive interview with Shiksha.com, Nishkarsh talked about his CBSE 10th board exam preparation routine, his reaction to Class 10 CBSE results, tips for upcoming aspirants and more.

CBSE Board Exams 2024 were conducted from February 15 to March 13, 2024. The Board announced the CBSE Class 10 Results 2024 on May 13.

Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing the results? Did you score what you expected?

A: Thank you! When I saw the results, I was elated. I had been anticipating this outcome due to my diligent efforts and sincere dedication to my studies. The confirmation of achieving such a high score filled me with immense joy and satisfaction. 

Q: Please tell us about your family background?

A: My familial context is modest; I hail from a single-parent household, nurtured by the unwavering love and dedication of my mother. In our journey, mutual support and resilience have been our guiding lights. I've never taken tuitions; instead, I've helped my mother by giving tuitions to my juniors. 

Q:   How many marks do I need to clear the CBSE 10th exams 2025?

A:

Students need to score at least 33 per cent in each subject in order to clear the 10th board examinations 2025. 

For subjects that include practical component, students are required to score 33 percent separately in practicals as well as theory. 

To score well, students must read the CBSE 10th syllabus thoroughly and must know the exam pattern. This will help them understand that the important chapters and topics and know the marking scheme and the types of questions that are asked in the exam. A little effort on this side will help students clear the exams easily. 

Q:   What things are not allowed in CBSE board exam?

A:

Students must go through the points below to avoid the CBSE board exam-day hassles:

  • All communication devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, headphones, pagers, fitness bands, cameras, etc., are barred from carrying to the examination hall.
  • Accessories like wallets, goggles, handbags, and purses are not to be carried.
  • Students must not forget to carry all the stationary items that are required to appear for the CBSE 12th board exams as sharing of stationary is not allowed
  • However, do not forget to carry your CBSE admit card on all exam days
  • Students without the admit crad will not be allowed to write their CBSE board exams

Q:   What do I need to carry on my CBSE 10th exam days?

A:

Students must remember to carry the CBSE 10th admit card 2025 along with the required stationery like pens, pencils, ruler, geometry box etc. It is important that they do not forget the CBSE admit card 2025 Class 10 or they will not be allowed to write the exam. 

CBSE 10th exams 2025 will likely be held between February 15 and March 13, 2025 in pen and paper format.

Q: Please tell about the stream that you are targeting.

A: Targeting the Science stream is a conscious decision rooted in my profound fascination with the intricacies of scientific exploration. It serves as a conduit to materialize my passion for technological innovation and intellectual inquiry. 

Q: What was your CBSE 10th Board Exam 2024 preparation strategy to score above 95%?

A: To surpass the 95% mark, I meticulously crafted a strategy founded on unwavering discipline, rigorous practice, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Clarity was sought for every query, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of each subject matter. 

Q: What was your CBSE board preparation routine?

A: During CBSE board exam preparation, I followed a strict routine. I allocated specific time slots for each subject, took regular breaks, and ensured to revise regularly. 

Q:   What are CBSE Board exams 2025 passing marks?

A:

To clear the CBSE 10th board examinations in 2025, students need to score at least 33% in each subject. This means that students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in all the subjects they have taken in the examination.

For example, if a student has taken 5 subjects, they must score at least 33% marks in each of those subjects to qualify the examination. 

It's important to note that there is no negative marking in CBSE board exams, so students should not worry about losing marks for incorrect answers. Instead, they should focus on attempting all the questions and attempting to answer them to the best of their ability.

Q:   How can I reappear for CBSE Board exams?

A:

If a student is unable to clear one or more subject in CBSE board exams, they can reappear for the exam through the Compartment Exam. It is usually held in July, and the application process begins in May. Students need to fill out an online application form and pay the exam fee to register for the CBSE Compartment Exam. Students who pass the exam can receive a passing certificate from the board.

Q:   How many marks are good enough in CBSE board exams?

A:

There is no concept of good or bad marks. You must focus on your studies and work hard towards achieveing good score in the board exams. The concept of good/bad marks can be benchmarked by you depending on the stream/career you have chosen for yourself. If you wish to enter IIT and become an engineer, you must aim for 90+ percentage, so on and so forth. 

Thus, set an aim for yourself and build a way to reach the goal and THAT shall be good enough for you.

Q:   What are the passing marks for CBSE 10th board exams 2025?

A:

Students need to score at least 33 percent in all subjects and a minimum aggregate of 33 percent in CBSE 10th board exams 2025 in order to clear the examinations. 

The Board has released the CBSE 10th syllabus and marking scheme for all subjects. Students must ensure to complete their syllabus and know the exam pattern well. They must nalso download and solve the CBSE 10th sample papers and previous years' question papers to perform well in the exams. 

Once done with the syllabus and practice, students will be able to clear the 10th board examinations will good percentage.  

Q: Did you take any online or offline coaching?

A: I abstained from both online and offline coaching. Instead, I relied on self-study and guidance from my mentors, fortified by an indomitable spirit of self-reliance. 

Q: What are your future plans? Which career path are you aiming? 

A: For my future plans, I am aiming to pursue a career in engineering. I aspire to join a prestigious institution and specialize in a field that aligns with my interests. 

The ambit of my aspirations encompasses a myriad of entrance examinations, including JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and other esteemed engineering entrance tests, each serving as a gateway to prestigious institutions. 

Q: What is your dream college/institute? 

My dream college is the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). I admire its academic rigor, world-class faculty, and the opportunities it provides for holistic growth and development. 

Q: What are your future goals? 

My ultimate goal is to become an accomplished engineer and contribute to technological advancements that positively impact society. I aspire to innovate, lead, and inspire others in the field of engineering. 

Q: Please share some tips for students preparing to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2025
