With an aim to crack NEET and a desire to join her dream institute AIIMS, Iffat Malik is targeting the science stream after scoring above 95% in CBSE Board Exams 2023. In an exclusive interview with Shiksha.com, Malik shares her prep strategy, future goals, more.
Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing the results? Did you score what you expected?
A: Thank you for all your precious wishes. I was amazed when my results were out as I wasn't expecting this much. It was around the 80s. But I got 95 which was literally beyond my expectations.
Q: Please tell us something about your family background.
A: I belong to a middle-class family where my father does a private job whereas my mother is a housewife.
Q: Please tell me about the stream that you are targeting
Q: How many subjects should be included while calculating class 12th CBSE board percentage?
Q: Will I clear the CBSE board exams 2025 if I obtain 33 percent in theory but not in practicals separately?
No. It is necessary that you score a minimum of 33 percent in practical and theory exams separately. In case you're unable to score the minimum marks either in theory or practicals even when the total aggregate is 33 percent, you won't be considered pass.
A: I am looking forward for the science stream.
Q: What was your strategy to score above 95%?
A: I actually didn't have any specific strategy for my studies though I just used to study when I used to feel studying. And always tried to make notes and revise all things timely.
Q: Did you take any online or offline coaching?
A: Yeah! I went for offline coaching for science and maths.
Q: Who encouraged you the most in this journey?
A: I would say in this whole journey my family, my school and my coaching teachers were quite supportive and encouraging.
Q: What was your routine during the CBSE board exam preparation?
A: There was not any such schedule or any specific timetable. It was just like Whenever I felt like studying I studied. But yes I would say "NOTES", notes were very helpful at the last moment of the board exam in this whole journey and in addition to this revising all the things was also an important thing.
Q: What are your future plans? Which career path are you aiming?
A: Right now, I am targeting for NEET as I'm aiming for the medical field.
Q: What is your favorite subject?
A: I would say my favourite subjects are maths and science.
Q: Are you planning to begin preparing for any entrance exam?
A: Yes, NEET for sure. I am preparing for it.
Q: What is your dream college/institute?
A: ‘AIIMS’ for real, I would say this one is literally my dream institute.
Q: What are your future goals?
A: At first, I'm looking for cracking NEET and then will go for MBBS.
Q: Please share some tips for students prepping to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2024.
A: Nothing much I would just say whatever you do in you studies just do it with full focus. All you have to do is just NCERT. Do it as much as you could and try to make NOTES yourself. In addition, never forget to revise. Revise things timely.
