The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has selected a total of 3,000 CBSE schools as assessment centres across India to facilitate the evaluation of answer sheets of CBSE 10th, CBSE 12th board exams. More than 1.5 crore answer sheets will be sent to teachers for evaluation. The assessment of the answer copies begins today.

“3,000 CBSE schools in the country have been selected as evaluation centres. Here, more than 1.5 crore answer sheets will be sent for evaluation to the homes of teachers. This process will be completed in approximately 50 days,” said Ramesh Pokhriyal, Education Minister.

On May 8, the minister had announced that the pending CBSE board examinations for Class 10 and 12 will be held from July 1 to July 15.

“Students were concerned about the conduct of the pending CBSE exams. These pending exams of high school and intermediate will be held between July 1 and July 15. Examinations of those subjects which have already been held earlier will not be conducted again,” said Pokhriyal.

"As far as transportation of answer sheets to the residences of evaluators is concerned, there is no such restriction on the movement except in areas falling in the containment zone," the Home Ministry informed.

Special permission has been granted for the operation of the evaluation centres. The 16 regional offices of CBSE have been permitted to function without restrictions in Green and Orange zone and with limited restrictions in the Red zone.

The evaluation process is likely to be completed within 50 days, the Education Minister added.

In Delhi, the Class 10th exams will only be conducted for North East students while Class 12 examinations will be conducted for only 29 subjects.
