CBSE Board will announce the CBSE Board Result 2020 for Class 10th and 12th students on July 15. Read further to know more

CBSE Result 2020: The Board will declare the CBSE 10th Result 2020 and CBSE 12th Result 2020 on the basis of internal assessment and it will announce the CBSE Board Results 2020 by July 15, 2020 on its official website i.e. cbse.nic.in.

As per the CBSE assessment scheme the board would be awarding the students based on the papers they have already appeared for. Those students who have not attempted a minimum of 3 papers (especially students of North East Delhi) the results would be based on the internal evaluation.

 

Important Points

  • Those students who have appeared for all the papers, the marks would be declared basis the performance in the examination
  • Those students of CBSE 10th Board and CBSE 12th Board who have appeared in more than 3 subjects, the marks for the pending subject would be based on the average marks obtained in the best three subjects
  • Students who have appeared for only three subjects, the average marks will be given on the basis of the three subjects they have attempted will be used for determining the marks of the pending exams that were cancelled.
  • For the Class 12 students whose only 1 or 2 papers could be conducted (true for students from North East Delhi), their results will be declared on the basis the performance in the appeared subjects as well as the performance in the internal/practical/project assignment. These students would have an option to appear for the examination at a later date. The results of all such students, however, would be announced along with the results of all the students.

CBSE Board on Thursday i.e. June 25, 2020, informed the Supreme Court that the CBSE Class 10th has been cancelled and CBSE Class 12th exam may be conducted once the situation gets better. The exams were scheduled to be conducted from July 1 to July 15, 2020.

For CBSE Class 10 students (barring students from North East Delhi), all core exams of 5 subjects were completed. The CBSE Class 10 results of the students, hence will only be basis the performance in the examinations attempted. All the other examinations were cancelled this year and as such the board would not be grading students on those papers.

During the hearing, CBSE informed SC that the Class 12 students will be given an option to appear in examinations or take the assessment on the basis of their performance in past three exams. For CBSE class 12, who want to appear for them the pending exams will be conducted "as soon as the situation is conducive." However, for CBSE 10th Board students, which were to be held only for North-East Delhi students are cancelled. 

Solicitor General for CBSE told Supreme Court that Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have conveyed inability to conduct examinations. The petitioner sought intervention for entrance exams as well. However, the Supreme Court refused to deal with the issue at this stage.

CBSE also told SC that it will issue a new notification to quash it's earlier decision to conduct the examination from July 1 onwards

The Board cancelled the pending CBSE Class 10 Board Exams and will promote them to next grade. However, when it comes to holding of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2020, looking at the importance of the examination, especially when it comes to seeking admission to higher education, the Board has scrapped the remaining exam but has given the option to students to appear for the exam once the situation is better.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) informed the Supreme Court about its decision on the remaining CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2020 and CBSE Class 12 exams today i.e. June 25, 2020.

Supreme Court also sought clarification on the new academic year and said that the new academic year can start only in September if board results are announced in August. 

The board also informed the court that academic year will be shifted for the 2020-21 session.

Apex court also said that the decision regarding board exams has to be pan-India and asked centre for a time frame in which it will come to a conclusive decision.

To which the Solicitor General informed the court that the exams are controlled by the Centre and state boards assist CBSE. The top court then asked centre to modify the draft notification and include State Boards as well.

Supreme Court then posted the matter for another hearing tomorrow and directed CBSE to issue fresh notification regarding exams and assessment method.

The SC was responding to a plea filed by a parents of some students. The plea sought quashing of the notification for conducting the remaining examinations of Class 12.

CBSE was supposed to conduct the remaining CBSE 10th exam for a section of students in North-East Delhi in July along with  CBSE 12th exams 2020 from July 1 to 15. On May 18, CBSE had released the revised Class 10 date sheet 2020 and CBSE Class 12 date sheet 2020.

Earlier, the CBSE Board Exam 2020 were postponed as the nationwide lockdown was implemented to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Three judge bench of Justices A.M. Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna were hearing a plea filed by parents seeking a stay on the board exam for remaining papers which were scheduled in July.
