CBSE Results 2020 will be out soon! The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to release the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 by July 15. The Board cancelled the CBSE 10th Board Exams 2020 and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020 considering the ongoing pandemic situation in the Country. Students who appeared for the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 must know that Board will publish the CBSE Results 2020 on its official website i.e. cbse.nic.in. Students are advised to keep their CBSE 10thAdmit Card/ CBSE 12th Admit Card handy while checking CBSE 2020 results

After the release of the cbse.nic.in results 2020, the Board will release overall pass percentage, results statistics and other details. But, have you ever wondered how the overall percentage is tallied by the board? While checking CBSE Marksheet/ Scorecard students often face problem in decoding the qualifying percentage, passing marks, grades, etc. Let’s understand the technique to decode CBSE Results 2020!

1) Percentage

In order to qualify CBSE Board Exams 2020 i.e. CBSE 10th Board Exams 2020 and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020, a student is required to score 33 marks per subject. Calculation of these marks may vary with the different subjects based on factors such as internals, practicals and theory exams. Even in internal exams, a student is supposed to score 30 marks in order to pass the subject. For example, a student appearing in the Chemistry exam need to score 33 percent in the 70 mark theory paper and 30 marks in the internal exam. The student will, therefore, need to score at least 24 marks in the theory and 10 marks in the internal to clear the CBSE Chemistry paper. The student must score an overall 33 marks in the exams in order to clear the paper.

2) Grades

Under CBSE, the assessment of Physical and Health Education, Art Education and Work Experience are graded. The internal and practical marks of all subjects will be assigned one of the following grades: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2 and E
Here is a list of grades that are awarded to students:

A1 is awarded to the top 1/8th of the passed candidates
A2 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
B1 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
B2 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
C1 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
C2 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
D1 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
D2 is awarded to the next 1/8th of the passed candidates
E is awarded to failed candidates

E grade is given to the students who score below 33 percent. Students need to clear the subject in order to get a grade above E.

3) Merit

Students scoring among the top 1 percent are awarded ‘Merit certificates’ by the board after the declaration of CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020.

4) Compartment

Students who fail in two subjects can appear for compartment exams. The compartment exam is a second chance for Students to clear the CBSE exams 2020. CBSE usually conducts compartment exams in the month of July and August. In order to appear or compartment exam, students need to clear internal exams.

5) Improvement:

Students who successfully clear a paper in the first try can sit for the improvement exam. A student can take more than one improvement paper from their main subjects. Students who take the exam through the vocational stream have to take the exam in the next academic year.

  • Visit the official website: cbseresults.nic.in or cbse.nic.in 2020 result.
  • Click on ‘Senior Secondary Result (Class XII) 2020’/ Secondary School Result (Class X) 2020 link.
  • Enter roll number, school number, centre number and admit card number as mentioned on CBSE 10thAdmit Card/ CBSE 12th Admit Card.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • The online cbse.nic.in result 2020 will be displayed on the screen.
  • Save CBSE exam result 2020 by taking a screenshot of the same.
