The official notification released by CBSE answers various important questions that were raised in students’ minds after the announcement of the final verdict. CBSE 10th 12th students are advised to go through the FAQs given below to get more clarity regarding the cancellation of the CBSE Board Exams 2020 and release of the CBSE 10th 12th Results 2020.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) reconsidered the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the conduction of the CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020. According to the final verdict, CBSE 10th Board Exams 2020 are CANCELLED and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020 are OPTIONAL. By optional, it means that CBSE will conduct the 12th  board exams later when the normalcy will be restored and students can choose to appear for the same to improve their scores.

CBSE Evaluation Criteria for 10th 12th Result 2020 released

The official notice released by CBSE states that, “Assessment of the performance of students in the cancelled 10th 12th examinations will be done based on the assessment scheme as suggested by the competent committee of the CBSE for declaration of result for both class-10 and class-12.”

CBSE also stated that it will release the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th results 2020 by July 15.

Q. When will CBSE declare CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020?

A. CBSE Board Results 2020 based upon the declared assessment scheme will be declared by July 15, 2020, so that candidates can apply and seek admissions in Higher Education Institutions in India and abroad, based thereon.

Q. Are CBSE 12th Board Exams completely cancelled or will CBSE conduct 12th board exams later?

A. Regarding the conduct of the CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020, the official notice released by CBSE states, for Class 12, CBSE will conduct an optional examination in the subjects whose examinations were scheduled to be conducted from July 1 to July 15, 2020, as soon as conditions are conducive, as assessed and decided by the Central Government. Candidates whose results will be declared based on the assessment scheme will be allowed to appear in these optional examinations to improve their performance if they wish so. However, the marks obtained by a candidate in these optional examinations will be treated as final for those who have opted to take these examinations.

Q. Will CBSE conduct 10th Board Exams later?

For candidates in class 10, no further examinations will be conducted and the result declared by CBSE on the basis of the assessment scheme will be treated as final.

Q. How will CBSE release 10th 12th board results for students who successfully gave all of their exams before lockdown?

For the students of both classes 10 and 12, who have completed all their examinations, their results will be declared based on their performance in the examinations.

Q. What is the CBSE evaluation criteria for students who appeared for exams in more than 3 subjects?

For students who have appeared in the examinations in more than 3 subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.

Q. What is the CBSE evaluation criteria for students who appeared for CBSE Board Exams 2020 for only 3 subjects?

For students who have appeared in the examinations in only 3 subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.

Q. How will CBSE release CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 for students who appeared in board exams for only 2 or 1 subject?

There are very few students of Class 12, mainly from Delhi, who have appeared in the examinations in only 1 or 2 subjects. Their results will be declared based on performance in the appeared subjects and performance in internal/practical/project assessment. These students will also be allowed to appear in the optional examinations conducted by CBSE to improve their performance if they desire to do so. The CBSE 10th results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 of these students will also be declared along with other students.
